Template optimization is a powerful plugin that will automatically generate optimized filter templates for your audio files based on the notes and chords that are present.

The plugin features three sections, the Compressor, the Reverb and the EQ.
In the Compressor section you have three knobs to control the amount of compression and decay of the signal. The amount of gain is also controllable and can be turned down to make sure that your compressor is not overloaded.

The Reverb section features a Drive knob that will adjust the amount of time the delay takes. The Reverse knob will reverse the order of the sound when it reaches the delay stage.

The EQ section features three equalizers that are three standard shelving filters. These filters are available with a wide range of frequencies from 0 to 20.000.

There is also the ability to use 3rd party bus plugins to get more creative with mixes.

I have not found a way to record the plugin to a mp3 file. There are some optional effects that can be enabled in the ‘new audio’ dialog and the audio can be saved.

Each of the filter circuits has 4 different modes, saturating, clipping, harmonic distortion and high-pass filter.

When applying compression and distortion, Etch has the ability to reverse audio direction through a simple To and From command. This allows users to create a stereo to mono version of an audio file.

Etch Editing Features:

Six audio tracks, four L/R and two mono tracks.

There is a Total Mix section that allows a user to mix the four stereo L/R tracks together into one mono track.

There is also an Effects Mix that allows a user to mix the effects settings from the two filter blocks into the Total Mix section.

The editing process is quite simple, just drag a source from the Stereo To Mono section of the Track section to the appropriate place in the Total Mix section to create the audio track. Once the track is done, drag it to the appropriate place in the effects section to apply the effects and effects settings.
